Recognising the rising stars in the data landscape.

Description

This award recognises innovation and excellence across one or more data domains that have informed Australia’s decisions or improved the economic and social well-being for Australians.   

Your nomination should include individuals, or teams comprising individuals, of any age but who have no more than three years’ experience in data-related employment.  

Your nomination should provide examples of the impact and measurable benefits they have helped deliver.   

Important to note:  Nominees for the Early Data Career Award cannot have exceeded three years total in data role(s) as of the awards opening date.    

Entrants guide 

Focus: Recognising emerging talent making an impact within their first three years in a data role. 

Example areas include: 

  • Innovative use of data across any discipline 
  • Contributions that improve decision making or public outcomes 
  • Learning and applying new skills quickly to deliver value 

Example Projects: 

  • An APS graduate team developing a prototype tool for program evaluation 
  • A new recruit who has transitioned to a data role for a career change and is now designing a fresh way to analyse administrative data 
  • Early career analysts leading high-impact projects with strong results 

Best for: Rising stars in the data landscape of any age who are early in their data careers but already delivering impact.
