Recognising cross-agency or cross-sector collaborations that unlock value through data sharing or integration. 

Description

This award recognises data sharing, commitment to open data and productive collaborations that leveraged the value of data to inform key decisions.    

This includes policy development, service delivery, new micro-research and innovative data insights informing a complex problem(s).    

Your nomination should include data sharing, partnerships, co-design or integration projects that applied the Australian Government’s Data Sharing Principles to enable better policy, regulatory, service delivery or innovation outcomes.    

Your nomination should demonstrate the data value and measurable benefits delivered.   

Entrants guide 

Focus: Unlocking value through collaboration and sharing data responsibly across boundaries. 

Example areas include: 

  • Cross-agency or cross-sector partnerships 
  • Open data initiatives that provide public benefit 
  • Data integration projects that improve evidence and service delivery 
  • Application of the Data Sharing Principles 

Example Projects: 

  • A multi-agency partnership to share data on natural disasters for faster response 
  • Building an open data portal with de-identified datasets for researchers 
  • Partnering with universities to integrate APS data for policy evaluation 

Best for: People and organisations who work collaboratively to make data accessible and impactful. 

 

Non-APS organisations including State and Territory agencies, private sector companies and universities are not eligible to submit entries independently. However, they may be included as partners in a nomination led by an APS department. In such cases, the APS organisation must be the primary entrant and point of contact.
