Nominations open for the 2026 APS Data Awards
Nominations for the APS Data Awards 2026 are now open and close on Monday 17 November 2025.
The APS Data Awards celebrate outstanding data-driven initiatives across the Australian Public Service (APS).
Individuals and teams from across the APS are invited to share how their work has had a positive impact on public services and outcomes for Australians. From enhancing services to driving policy insights, these projects showcase the transformative power of data-driven initiatives.
Held about every 18 months, the awards are timed to give projects the opportunity to mature, demonstrate impact and showcase results, while keeping pace with the rapidly evolving data landscape.

David Gruen’s mission to make the APS data community visible
“We want to raise the profile of data projects across the public service, and through our awards program open it up to all sorts of agencies that you wouldn’t kind of automatically think of as being ‘data-rich agencies’,” Gruen told The Mandarin.

Gala night tickets on sale
Finalists will have the opportunity to present to the panel of judges before the winners are announced at the APS Data Awards Gala Dinner on Wednesday, 13 November 2024, at Hotel Realm in Canberra.
The evening will also feature a keynote address from Assistant Minister Andrew Leigh as well as opportunities to connect with fellow data professionals.
