Code of conduct 

The APS Data Awards team is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees, speakers, and staff members to engage in the conversation freely without any fear of harassment. 

Expected behaviour in this instance includes, but is not limited to: 

  1. Being considerate, respectful, and cooperative with the venue, staff, participants, speakers, and any equipment made available for use by participants. This also includes adhering to instructions from staff regarding safety and/or other matters.
  2. Exercising consideration and respect when engaging with other participants.
  3. Refraining from any forms of demeaning, discriminatory and harassing conduct.
  4. Alerting an APS Data Awards team member if you notice anything dangerous, a participant in distress or in violation of this Code of Conduct. 

Examples of unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to: 

  1. Demeaning, discriminatory, and harassing conduct.
  2. Intimidating and/or aggressive conduct towards the venue, staff, speakers, and other attendees.
  3. Repetitive, disruptive behaviour.
  4. Refusing to adhere to instructions from APS Data Awards team members. 

The terms in this Code of Conduct are non-negotiable and continued violations will result in APS Data Awards team members taking actions deemed appropriate to ensure the safety of other attendees. This may include issuing a warning to the offending individual or expelling the individual from the current and future APS Data Awards events without a refund. 

Event cancellation policy  

If the APS Data Awards Gala Dinner is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside our control (for example government directions, travel restrictions, natural disasters, venue damage, severe weather or similar events), we will notify ticket holders as soon as possible. 

  • If the event is cancelled and not rescheduled, a full refund will be offered.
  • If the event is postponed, tickets will be transferred to the new date. 

If you can no longer attend for reasons outside these circumstances, the standard cancellation policy applies: 

  • No refunds will be provided. Tickets may be transferred to another attendee. The replacement attendee’s details must be provided to the APS Data Awards team via info@apsdataawards.gov.au prior to 5pm Tuesday 17 March. 

Event program changes 

APS Data Awards reserves the right to make changes to the list of speakers including substitutions, additions and cancellations, without prior notice. While every effort will be made to maintain the quality and relevance of the speaker, unforeseen circumstances may necessitate adjustments. These changes will not affect the overall structure and purpose of the event. 

Event photography 

The APS Data Awards Gala Dinner will be photographed and recorded. Images and recordings are kept by the APS Data Awards team and may be used for non-commercial promotional purposes including websites, publications, media articles, social media and other digital platforms. If an attendee does not agree to being recorded and photographed, please inform info@apsdataawards.gov.au or a member of the APS Data Awards team.
